The ground rules for using Before Start.

Welcome to Before Start. These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain your rights and responsibilities when using our platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Before Start is a checklist platform that lets you create checklists, run multiple instances of those checklists, store item-level data, and set up automation using webhooks. Organisations can also be created, allowing multiple members to share and collaborate on checklists.

The service is operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us via the form on our website.

2. Using the service

You're responsible for your own account and any data or content you input into the platform. You agree not to use the platform for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.

You must keep your login details secure and not share your account with others.

3. User content and data

You are fully responsible for the data you enter into checklists. If you include personal or sensitive data, you must ensure you have the right to collect and store it.

We process and store this data on your behalf but do not take responsibility for its accuracy, legality, or how you use it.

4. Organisations and membership

  • Organisation owners control membership, manage permissions, and decide who can access organisation-owned checklists.
  • All members of an organisation can view, edit, and complete organisation-owned checklists. Only organisation owners and checklist authors can change checklist visibility.
  • If you leave an organisation, your access to its checklists and data will be removed, but any content you previously added will remain available to the organisation.
  • If a user owns an organisation and is the last remaining owner, they must appoint another owner. If they choose not to, the organisation will be closed and its data removed.
  • Before Start is not responsible for disputes between organisation members or for how members use or share checklist data.

5. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the platform available and running smoothly but don't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. From time to time, we may make updates or temporarily suspend the service for maintenance.

We may also introduce or remove features as the platform evolves.

6. Automation and webhooks

You may use automation features, such as webhooks, at your own risk. Before Start is not liable for any errors, loss, or unexpected behaviour caused by automation.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or act unlawfully.

You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us through our website.

8. Payments

Before Start is currently free to use during the MVP phase. We may introduce paid plans in the future and will provide clear notice before any charges apply.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally to reflect changes to the platform or legal requirements. If we make significant updates, we'll let you know through the platform or by email.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales.
